June 4-7

We made it!  What a year it’s been!  I am so proud of each one of these first graders for challenging themselves to grow academically and socially.!  They have accomplished SO much!  I will definitely miss each and every one so I hope they stop by next year to say hello. I know they’ll do great things in second grade!  Thanks to you all for the support you’ve provided your first grader, and us here at school.  It is sincerely valued so I thank you for your time and help.  Have a wonderful summer!!

Edinbrook will be using “Peachjar” to send home important information at different times throughout the school year. Please find a link to Peachjar on our main Edinbrook Elementary web page. We will be placing important dates and information in Peachjar.

Upcoming dates:

Farm Field Trip: 6/4 (all day)

This Friday the first graders get an extra recess for earning over 500 gold coins!  Classes can earn gold coins from other staff members by following our school rules.  Way to go first graders!!

Another school year is quickly coming to an end and that means it is time for Field Day at Edinbrook!  We are asking for your help. We need as many volunteers as we can get for all grade levels. We would like one parent at each station to monitor and run the events. If you can spare a little time to come and help, it would be much appreciated. You can come to one grade level time or all 3.   We really need 20 parents for each grade level to make the day successful!  Please fill out and return the yellow volunteer form that went home last week in student folders.  If you need another, please let me know.  Thanks!

May 1-4

It finally FEELS like spring!  Even though everyone is getting excited for summer, we will have a lot of learning left to do!  We’ve been busy exploring with science, asking questions about our reading, digging deeper into geometry with math, and improving our writing through poetry and writing our own stories in flex time.  It’s going to be another awesome week here at EB!

April 23-27

As the weather is getting nicer (I realize that’s being a bit presumptuous), please make sure to discuss with your first grader the logical consequence of choosing not to wear boots or snowpants, or even jackets, at recess.  We discuss at school how melting snow and puddles make our shoes or pants wet and make the afternoon pretty uncomfortable.  It usually only takes one time before they realize what happens, but hearing it from someone at home usually helps as they then know your expectations as well.  :)
